Location: Rainford, St. Helens
Fire crews have been called to a large barn fire at Lords Fold, Ormskirk Road, Rainford, in the early hours of this morning after a large volume of calls from the public.
Crews were on scene at 0.53am, with five fire engines in attendance.
Crews arrived to find a farm building around 10 x 20 metres and acted quickly to secure water supplies and cool boundaries immediately.
Firefighters are tackling the fire with main branch hoses.
The incident is ongoing and is likely to continue for some time.

UPDATE: 7.00AM
Firefighters have been working through the night to extinguish the fire with a specialist vehicle from Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service attending in support, which has now left the scene - the incident has been scaled down to three fire engines. Crews are checking for hot spots and using hose reel jets to damp down the area.
